My Custom, Dual-Sided Diamond Huggies!

My Custom, Dual-Sided Diamond Huggies!

When I was designing my two most recent earring charms, I was also having a pair of huggies made! I ended up going custom for two reasons: it can be difficult to find retailers that disclose the quality of their smaller diamonds (like the type I have in my huggies), and it was a challenge to find offset-diamond huggies that had a smaller diameter that would suit my first lobe (which is lower on my lobe than standard, since I had these done when I was very little).

To save a little money, I ended up doing dual-sided huggies, so that I could simply reverse them for a different look. One side has small, round diamonds in prong settings, while the other side has off-set, baguette diamonds for a more geometric, eye-catching look. The huggies and settings are all 14K yellow gold, which coordinates with the threadless ends I have in my other piercings.

They were designed by Lauryn Volvar at Earth’s Treasury, who also picked all of the diamonds individually. The latter helps to ensure that you get exactly what you’re hoping for in the end. I know this because I have a pair of diamond pave huggies that just have very little sparkle for what they are, so I wanted to go to a source I could trust for quality!

I love wearing the huggies alone or with any earring charms I have, and I pretty much have had them in my first lobes since they were finished! They’re super comfortable, easy to reverse, and are timeless. I can’t wait to update my ear stacks in February for another update with these styled.

ColourPop That's Taupe Eyeshadow Palette Review & Swatches

That's Taupe Colour Pop That’s Taupe 9-Pan Pressed Powder Palette ($14.00 for 0.30 oz.) is a new, nine-pan palette that is taupe-themed. It includes five matte eyeshadows, three shimmer eyeshadows, and one Super Shock Shadow (Slated). The matte eyeshadows were fairly smooth and velvety, blendable, and easy to work with, while the shimmers were so-so. I found the shimmers to be drier and more prone to fallout and lacking shine unless applied with a dampened brush (which wasn’t always the case with ColourPop’s shimmer formula). ColourPop Wine & Only Eyeshadow Palette Review & Swatches

Wine and Only ColourPop Wine and Only 9-Pan Pressed Powder Palette ($14.00 for 0.36 oz.) is the newest release–and I think one of the last of the year–that includes a mix of shimmers and matte shades in a wine-inspired color story. The mattes were nicer than the shimmers, on the whole, though Grapeful has a ton of sparkle and not much that keeps it bound with the base, so that one had a lot of fallout. The shimmers were decent but did not perform as well as some past shimmers have from the brand. For those keeping count, there are a few Pressed Pigments, which come with the warning that they are not intended for use around the immediate eye area under FDA regulations, though these types of pigments are approved for usage on the eye in areas like the EU. Fenty Beauty Mauve Wives, Fenty Glow & Honey Waffles Gloss Bomb Creams Reviews & Swatches

Mauve Wives Fenty Beauty Mauve Wives Gloss Bomb Cream ($19.00 for 0.3 oz.) is a muted, medium mauve with subtle, cool undertones and a glossy, cream finish. It had semi-opaque pigmentation in one layer, which applied evenly and spread easily across my lips, but there was a bit of product that settled into my lip lines–not quite enough to be noticeable from a normal viewing distance. The texture was non-sticky, smooth, and plush without being too thick, though I felt like it was thicker than ideal for building up color as a second layer did feel noticeably thick and heavier. It wore well for four hours and felt moisturizing over time. FURTHER READING : Formula Overview for details on general performance and characteristics (like scent).
