Recent Purchases/Rediscoveries: Fenty eyeshadow sticks, which I’m hoping to photograph/swatch this weekend or early next week.

Weekend plans: My foster pups are due for their second vaccinations, so I’ll be taking my five in for that this weekend. I’m also helping with vaccinations for another litter at the rescue the same day. I’m about to prep for their 9-week photoshoot. My parents are coming over this afternoon to visit the puppies and play mah jong.

What’s a hidden gem you’ve traveled to? Neither are THAT hidden, but I’ve always enjoyed Monterey, CA and South Lake Tahoe!

Psst… since it’s Friday and we’re heading into the weekend, if you have some downtime, consider playing one of the games hubby and I have created! 🙂 Here’s a breakdown of what we have:

  • Adoptle (guess the name of an adoptable pet in six guesses)
  • Concludle (figure out the subject within six clues)

The mattes were nicer than the shimmers, on the whole, though Grapeful has a ton of sparkle and not much that keeps it bound with the base, so that one had a lot of fallout. That's Taupe Colour Pop That’s Taupe 9-Pan Pressed Powder Palette ($14.00 for 0.30 oz.) is a new, nine-pan palette that is taupe-themed. It includes five matte eyeshadows, three shimmer eyeshadows, and one Super Shock Shadow (Slated). The matte eyeshadows were fairly smooth and velvety, blendable, and easy to work with, while the shimmers were so-so. I found the shimmers to be drier and more prone to fallout and lacking shine unless applied with a dampened brush (which wasn’t always the case with ColourPop’s shimmer formula).
