Recent Purchases/Rediscoveries: I bought some Dr. Jart+ BB Cream for my mom, but I don’t think there was much else that I picked up in the past week! I have Lethal Cosmetics’ new collection along with ColourPop’s latest collections (actually, the last two) that I’m hoping to photograph/swatch tomorrow.

Weekend plans: Photograph/swatch/edit photos and write up reviews! I need to tackle some longer, eyeshadow palette reviews that I’ve been procrastinating on. My Yogis (four foster pups) are doing better over the last two days, though they were a bit up and down earlier this week. Tree is still being watched, but he’s on some antibiotics now and I’m giving him a calorie supplement between feedings to see if that helps him feel better.

Who was the last person to inspire you? My mom, because no matter how busy she gets, she will still drop everything for her baby girl.

ColourPop Wine & Only Eyeshadow Palette Review & Swatches

Wine and Only ColourPop Wine and Only 9-Pan Pressed Powder Palette ($14.00 for 0.36 oz.) is the newest release–and I think one of the last of the year–that includes a mix of shimmers and matte shades in a wine-inspired color story. The mattes were nicer than the shimmers, on the whole, though Grapeful has a ton of sparkle and not much that keeps it bound with the base, so that one had a lot of fallout. The shimmers were decent but did not perform as well as some past shimmers have from the brand. For those keeping count, there are a few Pressed Pigments, which come with the warning that they are not intended for use around the immediate eye area under FDA regulations, though these types of pigments are approved for usage on the eye in areas like the EU. ColourPop That's Taupe Eyeshadow Palette Review & Swatches

That's Taupe Colour Pop That’s Taupe 9-Pan Pressed Powder Palette ($14.00 for 0.30 oz.) is a new, nine-pan palette that is taupe-themed. It includes five matte eyeshadows, three shimmer eyeshadows, and one Super Shock Shadow (Slated). The matte eyeshadows were fairly smooth and velvety, blendable, and easy to work with, while the shimmers were so-so. I found the shimmers to be drier and more prone to fallout and lacking shine unless applied with a dampened brush (which wasn’t always the case with ColourPop’s shimmer formula).
