Rare Beauty Magnetic Spirit Eyeshadow Palette Rare Beauty Magnetic Spirit Eyeshadow Palette ($25.00 for 0.24 oz.) is a new, limited edition six-pan palette that includes all shimmer shades, though they varied from more satin-to-pearl to intense, sparkling and metallic. All six shades had semi-opaque or better color payoff in a single layer, while the formula was generally creamier, denser, and smoother so fallout wasn’t a concern. They had better adhesion on bare skin and looked a bit “melted” when applied and blended out.

Ablaze

Ablaze is a brighter, warmer coral base with flecks of pink and blue sparkle that shifted from warmer pink to brighter, cooler violet. It had a very shiny finish with moderate sparkle, and the texture was more emollient and cream-like, which helped a lot of those larger sparkles adhere to bare skin and bind with the underlying base color. It had nearly opaque color payoff in a single layer, which applied evenly and lasted well for eight hours before fading visibly.

Igniteis a muted, medium plum with subtle, warm undertones and a satin finish. The texture was smooth, dense, and slightly firmer in the pan compared to other shades, so it did require a heavier hand to pick up product evenly–though definitely not too challenging. The eyeshadow had opaque color coverage that adhered well and wore nicely for eight hours before fading a bit.

Power is a deep purple with cooler undertones and a satin sheen. It had rich color coverage that applied well to bare skin with a smooth, even lay down of product that blended out well along the edges. The consistency was smooth to the touch, more velvety and moderately dense, so it was best applied with a more moderate hand (a very light-handed touch might not pick up product as evenly). This shade stayed on well for eight and a half hours before fading noticeably.

It had opaque pigmentation that applied well to bare skin and blended out well. It lasted nicely for eight and a half hours before fading a bit.
